The night whispers and shares strands of souls that caress my weary bones.

Standing below the moonlight, making company to the lost souls that gather under the night.

Like reminding me that I've never been alone, they dance and sing under the moonlight.

They smile as I wonder.

Spellbound by their weightless beauty, ghastly selves and lifeless smiles as I wander.

They fly like fireflies around the moon as her light gently shines upon their souls.

The wind sends whispers like shivers down my spine.

A place like I've never had before, full of warmth in their hollow bones, full of feelings in their lifeless smiles.

A part of myself is the selfless moon, while my other half is the fiery sun.

And here I am, walking between spirits who dance and sing with me in the midst of the moonlight.

Their energy courses through my veins.

Their bright souls cast light through my darkness giving life to my shadows that accompany us through this lonely night.

I may be alive,

They may be already gone,

But one thing can't be broken,

We share the same bonds.

And so, life and death, we walk and dance, we sing under the moonlight.

Waiting for the stars to bright our paths, waiting for the sunrise to burn our souls like the illusion that life was.

Burning embers we are. ~
